Colorspec Coatings was formed in March of 2001 to fill a void in the Wood Coatings Industry in the New York area. Having been in the Wood Cabinet manufacturing business we found that all of the existing wood coatings companies in the New York City area were lacking in providing timely service, education, and technical advice for the wood coatings they sell. Our philosophy is "Treat every customer special and help them to be profitable in their wood finishing department." This has become our Mantra and always will be.

      Knowing that a quality line of coatings would be the backbone of our business, we tested many lines of coatings for over a year before incorporating and choosing the lines that we now represent.

     Shortly after opening we realized that sales and service of spray equipment was an equally important aspect of our industry. We soon started stocking several lines of quality spray equipment to augment our ability to service our customers well.

     With time it became apparent that custom color and stain matching is an integral part of servicing our customers needs. Whether a customer does not have the staff qualified to make custom colors or they need a proprietary color reproduced consistently, Colorspec Coatings has measured up to the task. We have invested heavily in equipment and staff to provide quality, consistent color matching in Opaque Lacquers, Conversion Varnish, Catalyzed Lacquer, Catalyzed Polyurethanes and Catalyzed Polyester. Furthermore we are prepared to make custom stains for wiping, spray, and automatic spray in a variety of pigments, dyes and solvent blends.

     Colorspec Coatings continues today testing new products, visiting vendors and reaching out to new markets.We are constantly trying to remain on the cutting edge of wood coatings technology in order to provide our customers with the latest techniques and materials to keep them competitive in today's market.
